Safe Sport Lead - Sport Nova Scotia

Overview: 

Sport Nova Scotia is seeking a highly-organized, critical thinker with excellent communication skills along with strong participatory leadership and team building skills to fill the position of Safe Sport Lead.

Reporting to the CEO, the Safe Sport Lead is responsible for the development of Safe Sport policies, practices and education in Nova Scotia.  The position will work to implement the ten international safe sport principles with all Sport stakeholders; Provincial Sport Organizations and Community Sport Organizations to ensure our culture fosters a safe environment within which everyone can excel.

The ideal candidate will have a successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in a related field and 5-10 years of progressive experience in senior sport management, child protection, security, law or insurance. This candidate will have demonstrated experience with the creation and implantation of policy and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build partnerships and generate consensus.  The ability to communicate effectively in French would be a very strong asset.
