Discipline: Massage Therapist

CSCA athletes/groups you work with (if specific): Wrestling/Track

When did you start practicing? 2001

Why did you become a Massage Therapist? Massage was something that got me through a lot of injuries when I was a javelin thrower. I wanted to get a better understanding of the human body and help other athletes. Collectively, I have 30 years of getting and giving massage therapy.

Please provide a few thoughts on working with high performance athletes: Whether the athlete is injured, preparing for a competition or just maintaining, there is always a different energy in the room than when I see non-athletes. Care must always be given not to flare something up, but still address the physical concerns of the athlete to achieve their long and short term goals.
